Attention Peace Corps Volunteers! Trainings for La Campagne Burkina Verte!
Attention all PCVs in Burkina Faso!
"The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things"...most precisely, the La Campagne Burkina Verte trainings here in Burkina Faso.
Pack your packs for Pepiniere Preparation Training People (Can I get a few more p-words in there?)

March 16th, head North (presumably North, or West) to the Sourou Valley to Tougan. Many DABA volunteers affectated here recently to complete agricultural work. Join them for this pepiniere preparation train ing. I am sure they would be more than happy to share their expertise, which they learned over 14 weeks of stage! If you fall in love with this provincial capital, perhaps you can come back on May 25th to learn more about Tree Transplantation! Don't forget to say hi to the volunteers in Tougan!
If you can’t make it to Tougan, you can head to the Southwest to Burkina Faso’s second largest city, Bobo-Dioulasso. It is well-known for it's art scene and being an aesthetically pleasing capital of the Southwest. On March 30th, the Pepiniere preparation training will take place. If you fall in love with this city like most volunteers have (and do), you can come back May 11th for the Tree Transplantation training.
If the first two places are out of reach, you can always come to Ouagadougou-Burkina Faso’s capital. I mean, if you are reading this blog as a volunteer, you’re probably thinking “Duh, Sam, it’s the capital.” And I would respond with “Duh, PCV, this blog is open to Americans too!” All the same, the Pepiniere Preparation training will be on April 6th (in the thick of HOT SEASON) and you are certainly welcome to the Tree Transplantation Training will be May 27th.
Unfortunately it is on your own dime to attend any of these trainings. That being said, you can attend any one of these sessions, regardless of proximity. Don’t forget the forms you need to fill out!
Wish us luck, spread the word, and learn step-by-step these invaluable lessons for helping trees survive and thrive. Knowledge is power! If you are looking for another School House Rock reference- figure 8 is double 4.
