"Our mission is to increase food security by developing resources and acting as an information exchange network for volunteers across all sectors of Peace Corps Burkina Faso."
Introduction
The Peace Corps Burkina Faso (PCBF) Food Security Task Force (FSTF) is a volunteer-driven committee officially created in 2008 in response to the problems of malnutrition and subsistence living prevalent in Burkina Faso.
The FSTF will be involved in increasing food security for Burkinabé through PCBF volunteers by offering trainings, informational resources, promotional materials, and funding opportunities for volunteer projects. As the committee was created by volunteers inspired by the nutritional qualities of the moringa tree (Moringa oleifera), FSTF continues to promote moringa from cultivation to transformation to preparation through sensibilisations and demonstrations.

Don't start from scratch -- read about what other volunteers have done in the past to increase food security.
Volunteers now have access to tree and vegetable seeds at our seed bank for personal, demo plot and project use.
The FSTF is the first point of contact and reviewer for the WAFSP grants for food security projects and USAID's SPA (Small Project Assistance) grants for Water & Sanitation. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
